Combining practical and theoretical elements, the Bachelor of Arts with a major in Film & Screen Production is a three-year program that introduces students to the processes, skills and theories behind the construction of both fictional and documentary narratives. The program, which includes a large practical workplace component, ensures you get plenty of hands-on production experience and covers everything from screen writing to digital media production and media ethics.
Academic requirements for this program are outlined below. In addition, to be eligible for admission, all applicants need to satisfy minimum requirements outlined at admission requirements. These include those relating to age and English Language Proficiency. We also consider your application more broadly - your non-academic achievements (such as any previous leadership roles, volunteering, work, church and/or community involvement) as well as personal qualities - your aspirations and interests and your capacity to complete your chosen program.
Applicants with recent Secondary Education
Applicants with Higher Education Study
Applicants who have successfully completed subjects at another University, which are relevant to the selected program of study, may be eligible for Advanced Standing.

The Bachelor of Arts majoring in Film & Screen Production is a dynamic and cutting-edge program that combines both theoretical and practical training to help you excel in the film industry. Over the course of your degree you will have access to practicing industry professionals who have accumulated years of professional experience, both in Australia and overseas.
These passionate educators will teach you both practical skills in film production and a critical understanding of the film industry, plus an introduction to the emerging digital media platforms. In addition to Australian Cinema you will learn about the riches of World Cinema, the Language of Film and Documentary Studies. Thanks to the inclusion of 80 hours of practical experience you will be well versed in every aspect of film-making by the time you complete your degree.
From screen writing to film production, project management and post-production, our graduates develop the skills that help them gain employment in a wide range of professional environments. Whether you choose to work in film and television production, advertising, broadcasting, corporate communications or digital media production, this program will put you ahead of the pack.
