(b) who state that completion of this Enabling Course will make them better prepared to undertake an undergraduate course; and

(c) who intend to seek admission to an undergraduate course.

This degree is ideal for students who like to work behind the scenes creating and manufacturing dentures, crowns, bridges and orthodontic appliances but not fitting the final denture or appliance to the patient.

The Australian College of Nursing’s (ACN) National Immunisation Program for Healthcare Practitioners course is based on the National Immunisation Education Framework for Health Professionals (2017) and has been accredited by the ANMAC subsidiary Health Education Services Australia (HESA) to deliver this course. HESA is the National body for health education accreditation and ACN is the first institution to have its Immunisation course accredited.

This degree is designed for someone who has a recognised Dental Technology Bachelor degree who is ready to upgrade their qualification.to work directly with patients. It will suit someone interested in working as an independent clinician to diagnose, design, manufacture and fit removable dentures.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Dental Prosthetics (Graduate Entry) program, a student must have:

  • a Bachelor of Dental Technology degree (or equivalent) from Griffith University or a partner University, completed within the past ten years with a minimum GPA score of 4.00 (on Griffith University 7 point scale);
  • OR

  • Bachelor of Dental Technology degree awarded more than ten years ago and have been registered as a Dental Technician in Australia or New Zealand within ten years of the planned date of commencing the program.

How Will I Be Selected?

Applicants must have successfully completed the HLT31812 Certificate III in Dental Assisting, HLT35015 Certificate III in Dental Assisting or HLT35021 Certificate III in Dental Assisting course.

Applicants must be currently employed at a dental practice for a minimum of 12 months, for a minimum of 15 clinical hours a week.

Have access to a reprocessing area for reusable instruments including sterilisation equipment.

Oral health promotions or oral health care units- Be able to conduct visual oral health checks on patients within your clinic, provide comprehensive information on oral care to elderly patients within your clinic or in an aged care facility and provide an oral health promotion program to a group within the community.

Undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment and meet the minimum ACSF level

Bachelor (Honours)

This program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to undertake advanced study and supervised research work in the specialisation defined by their undergraduate degree program within the context of a multidisciplinary cohort.
Entry Requirements

The criteria for admission to this Honours program are:

  • successful completion of the Griffith Bachelor of Dental Health Science or Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science degree or an equivalent qualification from another university, and
  • a GPA of at least 5.0 over the second and third year of the Bachelor degree. A candidate whose levels of achievement falls below this level may apply in writing for special consideration
  • the suitability of the proposed dissertation topic, the resources available to support the candidature and the availability of appropriate supervision, and
  • the preparedness of the applicant to undertake the degree in terms of the elapsed time since the prospective candidate qualified for the award of a Bachelor degree and the academic preparation provided by the Bachelor degree for the candidate's proposed dissertation topic.
