Griffith University Courses

To apply for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Public Health, a student must:

• hold any Bachelor degree (or higher) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing)
• OR hold a health-related diploma plus two years relevant work experience in the public health sector
• OR have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time work experience in health practice and/or administration/management/leadership roles within health-related organisations and students would be expected to have career goals to work in public health-related organisations.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Financial Crime Investigations and Compliance, an applicant must:

• hold any Bachelor degree (or higher) from a recognized University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 point scale), OR
• have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time professional work experience in a relevant field, OR
• have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to either of the above.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia cohort

Students wishing to complete this program under the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) corporate education scheme are required to complete a consent form providing Griffith University with permission to share their student information with the employer, CBA, in relation to the program.

To apply for admission to the Master of Public Health, a student must:

• hold a suitable bachelor degree in a related field (Public Health, Health Services Management, Environmental Health, Allied Health, Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Clinical Research, Biomedical Health and Social Science) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 point scale);
• OR hold a suitable qualification (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Bachelor Honours degree) in a related field such as Public Health; Health Services Management; Environmental Health; Allied Health, Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Clinical, Research Biomedical Health and Social Science with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 point scale);
• OR have completed the Graduate Certificate in Public Health (3147)* with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 point scale).

* Students applying for admission via this pathway may be eligible for Advanced Standing or specified credit of up to 40 credit points depending on courses completed in the Griffith Graduate Certificate in Public Health program. Credit applications for other Graduate Certificate programs are assessed individually and will require assessment of similarity in learning outcomes.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Visual Arts, applicants must:

• hold a Bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised University with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale)
• OR hold a Bachelor degree or a Graduate Certificate (or higher) in a cognate discipline from a recognised University with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale) - these students will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing
• OR hold a Bachelor Honours degree or a Graduate Diploma (or higher) in a cognate discipline from a recognised University with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale) - these students will be eligible for 80 credit points of advanced standing
• OR have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to either of the above - these students may be eligible for 10 to 80 credit points of advanced standing
• AND provide a brief personal statement of 2-3 paragraphs outlining:
  1. Why you want to study a Master of Visual Arts and
  2. A description of the research and/or practical projects that you would like to undertake during the study with reference to the courses and topics in the program that attract your interest.

Advanced Diploma pathway

Applicants for the Advanced Diploma pathway apply directly to the University and must have:

• an Advanced Diploma in Children's Services, an Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management or an Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Work and
• at least two years industry experience in the early childhood or related sectors

Selection of applicants will be based on (1) academic merit and (2) industry experience in the early childhood or related sectors.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management, an applicant must hold:

• a bachelor degree in a health-related field (Public Health, Health Services Management, Allied Health, Environmental Health, Dentistry, Medicine, Midwifery, Nursing)
• OR a bachelor degree in an unrelated discipline (that is, a degree in a discipline other than medicine, nursing, public health, environmental health, allied health, psychology clinical health, research or biomedical health)
• OR a health-related diploma PLUS two years relevant work experience in the health or aged care sector
• OR have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time work experience in administration, management and leaderships roles within health care organisations and students would be expected to have career goals to work in health-related organisations.

Progression for students admitted to the Graduate Certificate Health Services Management to the Master of Health Services Management (5586) is dependent on achieving a minimum pass grade in all courses of the Graduate Certificate.
