Advanced Diploma pathway

Applicants for the Advanced Diploma pathway apply directly to the University and must have:

• an Advanced Diploma in Children's Services, an Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management or an Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Work and
• at least two years industry experience in the early childhood or related sectors

Selection of applicants will be based on (1) academic merit and (2) industry experience in the early childhood or related sectors.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management, an applicant must hold:

• a bachelor degree in a health-related field (Public Health, Health Services Management, Allied Health, Environmental Health, Dentistry, Medicine, Midwifery, Nursing)
• OR a bachelor degree in an unrelated discipline (that is, a degree in a discipline other than medicine, nursing, public health, environmental health, allied health, psychology clinical health, research or biomedical health)
• OR a health-related diploma PLUS two years relevant work experience in the health or aged care sector
• OR have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time work experience in administration, management and leaderships roles within health care organisations and students would be expected to have career goals to work in health-related organisations.

Progression for students admitted to the Graduate Certificate Health Services Management to the Master of Health Services Management (5586) is dependent on achieving a minimum pass grade in all courses of the Graduate Certificate.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Marketing, a student must:

• hold any Bachelor degree (or equivalent) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 point scale) OR
• have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time professional work experience in a relevant field OR
• have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to either of the above.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Diploma of Research Studies in Business, a student must:

• hold an undergraduate degree in a related discipline from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum Grade Point Average of 5.0 (using a 7.0 scale) over the last two years of the Bachelor degree, OR
• hold a Masters degree in a related discipline from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum Grade Point Average of 5.0 (using a 7.0 scale), OR
• have completed the Graduate Certificate in Research Studies in Business with a minimum GPA of 5.0 (using a 7.0 point scale).

Students who successfully complete courses in the Graduate Certificate in Research Studies in Business with a minimum GPA of 5.0 without graduating will be able to transfer to the Graduate Diploma of Research Studies in Business (4160). Students who graduate with the Graduate Certificate and seek admission to the Graduate Diploma will be required to complete 60 credit points in order to successfully complete the Graduate Diploma.

The Program Director will take the following criteria into consideration when assessing applications for admission:

• evidence of the willingness of an appropriately qualified staff member to serve as a research supervisor.

Applicants are required to find a suitable supervisor and have their research project approved. Students may find the Griffith Experts website a useful resource to this end. Students requiring assistance in finding a suitable supervisor and developing a research proposal should contact the Program Director.

• hold any Bachelor degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale), OR
• hold a Griffith Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale). Students with a Griffith Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting will receive 40 credit points of credit.

Students who have completed a degree with accounting studies but not accredited with CPA Australia for Associate membership will be considered for admission.
