Entry to the Bachelor of Economics Honours program is open to students who have completed:

• Bachelor of Economics with the Society and Environment major with a minimum of 65 average in four level 300 Economics units and a minimum of 65 in BEA242; OR
• Bachelor of the Economics with Industry, Policy and Business Strategy major with a minimum of 65 average in four level 300 Economics units; OR
• Bachelor of Business with the Business Economics major with a minimum of 65 average in four level 300 Economics units and a minimum of 65 in BEA242; OR

Admission to Honours courses at the University of Tasmania require qualifications equivalent to an Australian bachelor's degree. Admission is conditional on research project and supervisor availability.

To be eligible for an offer, applicants must have completed a Certificate III (or equivalent) in any discipline.

Applicants may be eligible for an offer if they have relevant work and / or life experiences which demonstrate a capacity to succeed in this course.

Domestic applicants with VET / TAFE study

The College of Arts, Law and Education may accept as a candidate for the Graduate Certificate in Tourism, Environmental and Cultural Heritage a person who:

a. has completed an undergraduate degree in any field; or

b. has work experience of at least three years in a relevant field.

An example of an equivalent qualification is a Bachelor of Science with a major in life sciences (such as biology, environmental science, zoology, plant science, marine biology, ecology etc).

In addition, specifically for the Governance and Policy specialsation, students may be admitted with a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a governance and policy field from a recognised tertiary education institution with evidence of completion of units at undergraduate level that are related to life sciences.

We consider applicants from a broad range of life experiences and backgrounds, those with professional learning or formal study qualifications and skills and those entering University study as a mature age student with little previous formal qualifications and/ or experience in this field, and year 12 leavers.
