Understand and explain human behaviour The Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) (Honours) is a one-year, APAC-accredited Honours degree that allows you to continue your studies in psychology.
Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for admission to the Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) (Honours) are:

* completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC)-accredited qualifying psychology degree within the last 10 years. The qualifying degree may be: I. a three year undergraduate psychology degree (or first three years of an accredited four year degree); or II. a Graduate Diploma in psychology for applicants who completed an undergraduate degree in a different discipline; and

* a minimum Credit average in second and third year psychology courses / graduate diploma psychology courses. There is a limited number of honours places available. Selection will be based on applicants' order of merit on second and third year psychology courses / graduate diploma psychology courses. Thus, a higher than minimum GPA may be required to be offered a place.
Entry requirements

For entry into most USC undergraduate degree programs, you need to have completed a minimum level of education similar to successful completion of Australian Year 12 with good grades.

Further studies, for example, a semester or more at college or university, can also be considered for entry and may give you credit transfer towards a degree.

Some examples of upper secondary qualifications and a guide to the minimum grades that USC will consider are listed here. These are minimum requirements and do not guarantee entry. Some programs may require higher grades. Alternative qualifications may also be considered on a case by case basis.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to a research Master degree, an applicant must hold:

(a) a Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) with a Grade Point Average of 5.0 or higher on a seven point scale from a recognised higher education institution; or

(b) a Bachelor Honours degree (AQF Level 8) Class IIB from a recognised higher education institution; or

(c) a record of qualifications and/or professional research experience deemed to be equivalent to the standard of (a) or (b) as may be approved by the Research Degrees Committee, or the Chairperson acting on behalf of the Committee.

The prior study must be in an area of study relevant to the discipline area of the Master degree. If the prior study has not included an appropriate preparation in research methodology, the candidate will be required to undertake an appropriate research methodology course, as specified by the relevant Head of School, as part of their candidature.

The admission requirements for a specific Master degree may include additional requirements, such as a Bachelor degree in the relevant discipline, professional registration, a specified number of years of professional practice, or other requirements indicative of a suitable preparation to undertake a research program at Master level. Additional requirements should be discussed with your proposed supervision team prior to applying.

Please note that offshore international students enrolling in this program can only study it fully online. Onshore international students on a Student Visa must study on campus.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for admission to the Master of Professional Psychology are:

  1. Successful completion of an APAC accredited four-year degree or fourth year in Psychology with Honours Class 2 Division I from a recognised higher education institution.
  2. Applicants must be eligible for provisional registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

The Master of Professional Psychology offers a limited number of places.

Additional entry information

Applicants must also submit two referee reports (one academic and one professional). Shortlisted candidates are required to undertake an interview. There are limited places available for this program. Offers will be made on the basis of academic achievement, references and interview which are evaluated holistically by a small team of teaching staff.

All successful applicants are required to apply for and gain provisional registration or if applicable, full registration, with the Psychology Board of Australia via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Students must have registration prior to commencing their study and this must be maintained for the duration of the program.

Applicants with non-Australian degrees must have their qualifications assessed by the APS.

All documentation must be submitted by the application closing date. Applications that are not full and complete by the close date will not be accepted.
