The Certificate III in Parks and Gardens will give you the skills and knowledge to work in the management and maintenance of public and private parks, reserves and gardens, natural bushland and community recreation areas.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

If you are undertaking the course as an apprenticeship, you must first have an a training agreement in place with a registered employer from a relevant industry.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by another Registered Training Organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.

There are no prerequisites required for this course.

Learners should be able to meet the physical requirements of assessment which may include:

- Manoeuvring machinery and equipment
- Lifting and carrying materials
- Digging

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements.

Training agreement with a registered employer from the landscape construction industry.

If you are undertaking an apprenticeship, you must first have a training agreement with a registered employer from a relevant industry.

If you are undertaking it as a non-apprentice, there are no prerequisites for the course.

Entry Requirements

Each student will undertake a Pre-Training Review before enrolling to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about an individual's existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals. Students must be working within the parks and gardens industry. Apprentices must have a registered training contract agreement with their employer.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification

To meet academic requirements for Diploma or Advanced Diploma courses, you need to successfully complete any TasTAFE course entry procedures and you also need to:

  • Have completed year 12 and provide TasTAFE with a copy of your Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education awarded to you by an agency or authority of a State or Territory; OR,

  • Provide TasTAFE with a copy of a qualification at Level 4 or above in the Australian Qualifications Framework that was awarded to you. This qualification must have been delivered in English; OR,

  • Complete an approved language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment and display competence at or above Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in both literacy and numeracy.
