Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) Courses

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. It is recommended that you have evidence to demonstrate the following:
1. Completed the Certificate IV in Information Technology or other relevant qualification, or:
2. If you have not completed the required qualifications, you have demonstrated vocational experience in a range of work environments, specifically using IT networking technologies. This experience must be relevant to the qualification and examples of the following will be requested prior to enrolling:

Programming stream:
- Creating OOP classes using inheritance.
- Manipulating databases using SQL; applying basic programming skills to create applications; creating markup language documents (HTML) and cascading style sheets (CSS).
- Analysing system requirements and document using UML diagrams such as user case diagram and use cases.
- Using a programming language (e.g., Java, C++ and PL/SQL) to create iterative constructs and conditional statements.

Networking stream:
- Working with the intermediate functions of the current version of Windows Server such as DHCP, DNS, NPS, VPN and IPsec.
- The ability to pass CCNA Routing and Switching - Introduction to Networks (TCP/IP model, OSI model, basic router configuration and IP addressing including VLSM)

There are no entry requirements for any of the Certificates in General Education for Adults, however your skills will be assessed on entry to advise you on the best starting point for your successful learning journey.

This skill set is for individuals with existing automotive technology skills and knowledge, who work in automotive mechanical or electrical technical contexts, and who are looking to upskill in the area of BEVs.r> This skill set is limited to those who have completed one of the following qualifications:
- AUR30320 Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent
- AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent

Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who have achieved:

- HLT31812 Certificate III in Dental Assisting or
- HLT35015 Certificate III in Dental Assisting or
- HLT35021 Certificate III in Dental Assisting or
- Equivalent.

You must be employed in a dental practice to undertake this qualification.

There are no prescribed training package entry requirements. CIT requires you to achieve the following:
Prior to enrolment, achieve a score of 4 in most categories in a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills (LLND) task provided by CIT.

You must:
have an ACT Year 10 Certificate or equivalent literacy and numeracy skills.

If you are entering this course as a Trainee or Apprentice under the Australian Apprenticeships arrangements, you must be employed in the industry and you must register with an Apprentice Network Provider (ANP) prior to enrolment.

To access this training, at least one person will need to have enrolled in the online accredited infection prevention and control training course.
