Successful completion of a recognised bachelor degree or equivalent international qualification with a major in computer science, information technology, information systems, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or a program with substantial quantitative competencies.

Consideration will also be given to applicants who have at least five years appropriate professional experience. Applicants must provide further documentation detailing their employment experience in the form of a curriculum vitae (CV) with their application.

Consideration will be given to applicants who hold a graduate certificate.

Successful completion of one of the following:

• a recognised bachelor degree or a graduate diploma or masters degree in a related area; or
• a recognised bachelor degree plus an honours degree or a graduate diploma or masters degree in a non-related area.

Related areas include: public health, health science, primary health care, medicine, social science or health promotion

Note: Bachelor of Nursing is not an approved degree for this course. Applicants with a degree in this field are encouraged to apply for either the Graduate Diploma of Health Research or Public Health. Applicants with extensive experience in rural and remote practice may be assessed on a case-by-case basis

Applicants who have completed Charles Darwin University's Graduate Certificate of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control (UIDPC1) or Graduate Certificate of Epidemiology (UEPID1) are also eligible for entry.

Successful completion of:

• a recognised bachelor degree in any field; and
• the equivalent of one-year full-time study in behavioural or social science units, whether this be included in the completed degree or in the form of additional qualifications at diploma or above level.

Due to professional recognition, applicants who have completed a Bachelor of Social Work undergraduate degree accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers will not be eligible for entry into this course.

Admission requirements are met by one of the following:

• Successful completion of the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (or equivalent) and the awarding of an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of at least 60*.
• Successful completion of a national qualification at Certificate III level or higher.
• Successful completion of at least 0.5 year of full-time study (or equivalent) of a higher education degree/diploma.
• Overseas secondary or tertiary qualifications considered equivalent to the above Australian qualifications.
• Attainment of a STAT Multiple Choice score of 140.
• Successful completion of the Tertiary Enabling Program, the Preparation for Tertiary Success courses, or other recognised tertiary preparation course.
• Submission of an acceptable personal competencies statement and/or employment experience.
• Defence members with service of 1 year or more at the following ranks (or higher) meet the academic entry requirement for this course:
  • Navy: Seaman, Able Seaman, Leading Seaman
  • Air Force: Aircraftmen/Aircraftwoman, Leading Aircraftman/Aircraftwoman, Corporal
  • Army: Private, Lance Corporal, Corporal

There are no entry requirements for this qualification, although students will be encouraged to seek employment or work experience in a commercial bakery to expand on their learning.

A basic level of maths and English is required. All applicants will need to complete a language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment to show that they have an appropriate level of LLN skills to participate successfully in the course and to identify any support needs.

Applicants are to attend a formal interview with the course coordinator to determine suitability for the course and that they have a clear understanding of the course requirements.

To gain entry into AHC32822 Certificate III in Rural Operations, candidates are required to:

• be physically fit, active, and able to function effectively in a tropical environment, as this is a physically demanding course.
• have a work contract with an approved employer to undertake a traineeship.

To gain entry into AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, candidates require:

• To be an Apprentice who has entered a Training Contract with their employer and Australian Apprenticeship Support Network NT.
• Understanding basic computer skills, to navigate online learning materials and assessments.

Students will also need to wear work clothing suited to the automotive industry such as:

• Steel cap boots
• Safety glasses
• Protective clothing

There are no mandatory requirements; however, candidates who wish to commence this course need to have the required skills and knowledge to undertake the qualification at this level, e.g. completion of Year 10 or equivalent and a general command of spoken and written English to be able to meet industry standards for communication. A pre-assessment may be required.

To be eligible to undertake a mandatory work placement in a mental health care setting, students may be required to obtain:

• Ochre Card to work with children
• NT Police Clearance

Students may also require occupational health screening, including vaccinations.

To gain entry into CUA40420 Certificate IV in Live Production and Technical Services, candidates are required to:

• Undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment to determine applicable support requirements.
• Be fit, active and able to function effectively in a tropical environment, as this is a physically demanding course.
• Produce a body of work demonstrating the ability to respond effectively to workplace requirements associated with live production and technical services in line with current industry standards.
• Apply a basic knowledge of trends and traditions in at least one area of technical production.
• To study part-time students are required to be engaged in the industry.

Skills and knowledge may have been acquired through experience or formal study. All pre-requisite qualifications and experience will be assessed at a pre-enrolment interview.
