Entry Requirements

For admission to the Master of Arts Research, an applicant is required to hold:

  • a postgraduate qualification with a GPA of at least 5.0 in a related discipline
  • OR a Bachelor degree with at least Second Class Honours (Division B) in a related discipline.

In addition to the academic qualifications required for candidature as described in above, the following criteria need to be satisfied for admission:

  • the proposed topic is appropriate for higher degree research and consonant with the academic aims and objectives of the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science.
  • the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science is able to provide the necessary research place, supervision, resources and facilities; and there is an appropriate fit between the applicant, research environment, available resources and supervision.
  • there are two qualified members of staff holding confirmed, continuing or fixed-term appointments of sufficient length for the purposes of supervision.
  • the proposed program of work can be completed within the maximum period of candidature for the degree.
  • the proposed research does not reproduce research that has previously been submitted for the award of a degree or diploma.
  • the proposed program conforms to the University's ethical guidelines on research involving humans and animals.
  • where the intellectual property rights of the applicant may be a consideration, a suitable agreement protecting the rights of the student has been signed. Should a student be unwilling to sign an agreement, the research proposal may not be approved and the student may be required to choose another program of study.
  • the provision of educational services consequent upon approval of the application for candidature will not expose the University to a risk of contravening any applicable law, including any international embargoes, sanctions or controls which regulate the University's operations from time to time.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting, an applicant must:

  • hold a Bachelor degree (or equivalent) from a recognized University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 point scale)
  • OR have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time professional work experience in a relevant field.

Completion of this Graduate Certificate is a pathway into the Masters of Professional Accounting, where applicants may be eligible for 40 credit points of credit.

The Bachelor of Dental Health Science is a quota-managed program as there are a limited number of places available to ensure sufficient resources are available to support the students.

Selection for entry to the Bachelor of Dental Health Science comprises of three essential components:

  1. University Clinical Aptitude test ANZ (UCAT). The UCAT ANZ assists universities to select applicants with the most appropriate abilities and professional behaviours required to become successful clinicians. To progress to the second component of the application process, ALL potential applicants must first complete this test. In order to be considered for entry in 2023, registration to complete the UCAT ANZ closes on the 17th of May 2022 with a late booking deadline of the 31st of May 2022.   2. Multiple Mini Interview (MMI). Following the University receiving UCAT ANZ results, applicants will be selected for the Multiple Mini Interviews based on their score. The MMI's will require students to attend an online multi station interview on 24 or 25 November 2022. The interviews will assess applicants suitability based on five factors:
  • Motivation to study and work in Dentistry,
  • Teamwork skills,
  • Communication and Empathy,
  • Ethics and Social Awareness
  • Critical Thinking skills.
  • Academic Attainment
    • School Leavers- Academic achievements in Year 12 or equivalent. Prerequisites for admission may be specified in terms of levels of achievement in particular Year 12 subjects. Prerequisite conditions may be satisfied by other study or experience which is considered to be equivalent to the Year 12 prerequisites.     • University Study - Applicants who have completed university study will have a rank depending on the duration and overall Grade Point Average (GPA) achieved. More information regarding how GPA is calculated and assessed can be found at the Upgrading via University Studies web page.

    Each of the three components above have a minimum threshold that must be met. Once all three weighted components are completed, scores will be combined and candidates will be ranked on their overall score. Completion of all components may not result in an applicant receiving an admission offer.

    Griffith University Rural Priority Access Scheme

    A proportion of the Griffith University Dental Science intake will be required to be from a rural background (MM 2-7). Therefore, applicants who meet these criteria will be given priority access to Griffith University Bachelor of Dental Health Science. More information is available here.

    Griffith students may not apply for the Bachelor of Dental Health Science program by submitting an internal transfer.

    The Master of Science is a two-year full-time program providing graduates with the opportunity to undertake advanced study and research.
    Entry Requirements

    To be eligible for admission to this program, a student must hold:

    • a Bachelor of Science within a relevant science discipline (Applied Mathematics, Archaeological Science, Biomedical Science, Bioscience, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Forensic Science, Marine Science, Physics) with a GPA of 5.0 or better.

    In addition to the academic qualifications required for candidature as described above, the following criteria need to be satisfied:

    • the proposed topic is appropriate for higher degree research and consonant with the academic aims and objectives of the School of Environment and Science
    • there are two qualified members of staff holding confirmed, continuing or fixed term appointments of sufficient length for the purposes of supervision
    • the School of Environment and Science is able to provide the necessary research place, supervision, resources and facilities; and there is an appropriate fit between the applicant, research environment, available resources and supervision
    • the provision of educational services consequent upon approval of the application for candidature will not expose the University to a risk of contravening any applicable law, including any international embargoes, sanctions or controls which regulate the University's operations from time to time, and
    • the proposed program of work can be completed within the maximum period of candidature for the degree.

    After completing two years of study in the Bachelor of Physiotherapy program (1589) or Bachelor of Physiotherapy program (1579), high achieving students with a Grade Point Average of at least 5.0 are eligible to apply to transfer to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) program.
    Entry Requirements

    The University's Bachelor Honours Degree (AQF Level 8) Policy will apply.

    Students who have completed Years 1 and 2 of the Bachelor of Physiotherapy program are eligible to apply for this program. Students in this program will undertake the 30 credit point dissertation in Years 3 and 4 as determined by the Program Director and subject to the following criteria:

    • achievement of a minimum GPA of 5.0 for all coursework at the completion of the second year in the Bachelor of Physiotherapy program.

    The Program Director will take the following into consideration when assessing applications for admission:

    • the suitability of the proposed dissertation topic and
    • the resources available to support the candidature including availability of appropriate supervision.

    The Bachelor of Music (Honours) is a one-year Bachelor Honours degree available to students after graduating with the three-year Bachelor of Music.
    Entry Requirements

    To be eligible for admission to this Honours program, a student will be expected to meet the following requirements:

    • have successfully completed the requirements of a Bachelor of Music or hold a three or four year degree in music from a recognised university which is equivalent to the Bachelor of Music at Griffith University;
    • have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.6 (on a scale of 7.0) or equivalent from a recognised University (consideration will be given to students who achieve a minimum GPA of 5.6 in the final year of their program);
    • have a minimum grade of 6.0 in two Music Literature courses or demonstrate a standard equivalent to a grade of 6.0 in two music literature courses from a recognised University AND have completed 2329QCM Introduction to Music Research (or equivalent) and achieved a minimum grade of 6.0;

    The Master of Advanced Nursing Practice has been designed to meet the core skill requirements for advanced nursing practice. The program develops nursing competence, skills and knowledge in assessment, planning, implementation, diagnosis and evaluation of care from a specialist capacity.

    • a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) and a GPA of 4 or above AND
    • current or temporary unrestricted registration as a nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

    You will receive a rounded professional architectural education with strength in design-research. You can choose to focus on sustainable design, urban design, history/theory or design practice.
    Entry Requirements

    Graduates of an approved undergraduate pathway degree in architecture with a minimum GPA equivalent to a Griffith GPA of 5.0 across the second and third years of their undergraduate 3-year degree program will be eligible for admission to the Master of Architecture.

    Graduates from the Griffith Bachelor of Architectural Design or Bachelor of Environmental Design (Architecture) who have a GPA of less than 5.0 but no less than 4.5 across the second and third years of study will be considered for entry to the Master of Architecture on the basis of demonstrated achievement in the core second and third year architecture discipline courses. Documented relevant experience may also be considered.

    Graduates from the Griffith Bachelor of Architectural Design or Bachelor of Environmental Design (Architecture) with a GPA of less than 4.5 across the second and third years of study in core architecture courses, as well as graduates from other pathway programs in architecture, will be considered for entry on the basis of documented relevant experience (a portfolio and/or study diary covering a minimum six-months) and their academic record. The relevant experience must be explicit.
