Each student will undertake a Pre-Training Review before enrolling to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about an individual's existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals.

Applicants must be working in the industry and able to provide a letter of support from their employer to undertake some practical assessments in the workplace.

Students need to be 16 years of age and have a good command of the English language. This course is best suited to learners who have completed a lower level Conservation and Land Management course, or have relevant industry experience. Students will undertake a Pre-Training Review that will provide valuable information about existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals.

Applicants must be willing to provide a Working with Children Check prior to undertaking placement and are responsible for all costs associated. Applicants must be willing to obtain a current clear Police Check prior to undertaking placement and are responsible for all costs associated. Applicants must be willing to provide proof of their up-to-date immunisation status including Covid-19 to employers to undertake practical placement, if requested. Applicants will be interviewed by the department as part of the Pre-Training Review. Applicants must also provide evidence of a permanent cognitive and/or intellectual disability as outlined in the training package.

Applicants will be required to undertake a Pre-Training Review onsite at a SuniTAFE campus to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. The Pre-Training Review will include a literacy and numeracy assessment, 500-word essay and an interview with the Nursing Department. Applicants must be 18 years of age and must be able to demonstrate how they meet the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) specified level of English language skills which may require providing a formal English Language test result (e.g. IELTS, Pearson, OET, TOEFL iBT). Prior to their interview with the Nursing Department, applicants must provide evidence of a current Working with Children Check and current clear National Police Check. Applicants must also be willing to obtain and provide evidence of an NDIS Worker Screening Check and completed full immunisation record including the Covid Vaccination prior to practical placement.
