Can I Apply?

It is recommended that applicants have industry experience to enrol.

There are no set prerequisites for this course however you will be required to attend an Information Session and undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills assessment.

The Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) provides a national standard of required core skills and levels of performance when seeking to enter training. Kangan Institute has the Certificate IV in Building and Construction listed as a ACSF Level 3 for Language, Literacy and Numeracy. All students will be required to complete a pre training review if they intend to enrol into the course after the information session on the day.

The Graduate Certificate in Planning and Management of Natural Hazards takes a multidisciplinary approach to looking at natural hazards and how society can build resilience in the face of natural hazards.
Entry Requirements

A candidate shall hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree from a recognised university in a related field of study, for example, Urban and Regional Planning, Geography or Environmental Science.

Applicants must meet the University's English Language Requirements for Admission Rule.

This qualification reflects the roles of individuals working in the resources and infrastructure industries who perform mainly routine tasks and procedures, using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge, and taking some responsibility for the quality of the work outcomes.
Entry Requirements

Completion of the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher level course.

There are no other entry requirements for this course.

It is recommended that students have a sound knowledge of Year 10 Math and English

Admission to the TRACKS tertiary preparation program will be open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates:

(a) who are not admissible to a course and who intend to seek admission to an undergraduate course; or

(b) who state that completion of this enabling course will make them better qualified to undertake an undergraduate degree and who intend to seek admission to an undergraduate degree; or

(c) who have unsuccessfully attempted an undergraduate course previously and who state that completion of this enabling course will make them better qualified to undertake an undergraduate course.
