Prior to enrolment or commencement of this higher education program, you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment. This will assist with determining your suitability to the course, and identify any learning support needs.

Statement of attainment in Safe Work in Confined Spaces and at Heights is appropriate for those seeking to work in operational roles where they are required to work safely at heights, work in confined spaces and operate elevated work platforms (including scissor lifts) up to 11m.

CIT holds interviews prior to the commencement of study to discuss:
- previous experience - recognition of prior learning
- support services for language, literacy and numeracy
- roles and responsibilities of all parties

This training will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to be able to perform Erect, Alter and Dismantle Scaffolding Advanced Level necessary for licensing in the construction industry.
Entry Requirements

You must be physically fit and able to work at heights and at least 18 years of age - this is a requirement in the ACT for licensing of Persons Performing High Risk Work.

You will need access to an appropriate workplace with the required equipment - part of the assessment requirements for this course is an industry logbook. Teaching staff can give advice as to what workplaces are appropriate.

You must have English language skills to effectively communicate and work safely with others in the work area and to read and comprehend manufacturer's instructions and workplace procedures and safety signs. You must also be able to apply mathematical procedures for the estimation and measurement of loads. These skills will be checked prior to enrolment.

Advanced Scaffold - Must hold Basic Scaffold qualification

A good command of the English language, both written and verbal, is recommended.
