Students must provide a National Police Clearance that does not identify any offences that would prevent the student from working in the Aged or Disability care sector.

To enrol, you must be physically fit to perform physical duties associated with providing personal care and domestic support including but not limited to:
Manual handling tasks such as hoisting and transferring
Assisting with personal care tasks such as showering and feeding
Assisting with domestic duties such as cleaning and making beds
To support your application, you may be asked to provide a medical clearance to support your application.
Students may be asked to provide evidence of immunisation status and may be required to have additional immunisations depending on the placement agencies requirements.
All students must provide evidence of current influenza vaccination.
All students must provide evidence of two doses of COVID 19 vaccination.
All students must provide NDIS worker screening check
Students will also be required to attend Skills Workshops at Geraldton Campus. If students are unable to attend workshops alternative arrangements may be made with the lecturer.

All applicants that have not completed CHC42015 Certificate IV in Community Services and CHC40413 Certificate IV in Youth will need to meet with lecturing staff prior to enrolment to discuss the possibility of Recognition for Prior Learning for all the units that are delivered in Certificate IV Community and/or Youth. These units are outlined in the Qualification packaging rules below.
While there is no requirements under the qualification packaging rules for prior completion of Certificate IV in Community Services or Certificate IV in Youth Work, students without these qualifications will not have all the units required for the qualification as they will be missing the units delivered in Certificate IV.
A current National Police Clearance and Working with Children's Check are required prior to work placement and employment in most youth and community agencies. An Education Department Check is also required for organisations funded by the Education Department.
Potential learners with convictions are asked to discuss these with a lecturer as they will impact on placement. Learners are encouraged to have any convictions they may have Spent if possible. Some convictions will mean placement will be unavailable. Without placement learners are unable to complete the course.
Learners will be interviewed during enrolment and a Client Needs Summary will be completed to identify any limitations to these requirements and actions planned to address these limitations.
