Holmesglen Institute of TAFE Courses

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. The required Literacy level is 2 and the numeracy level is 2. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Applicants must have successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent or be of mature age. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Holmesglen also requires that all applicants possess the following abilities:

Turn on a computer.
connect to the internet
Use a mouse, keyboard, headset with a microphone or speakers, and a webcam.
open and close a software application
conduct a search in a web browser.
send and receive emails
save a file, and locate a saved file
download and install software applications
Use webinar software to participate in remote learning.

Applicants intending to learn remotely will require access to a PC computer or laptop with the following minimum specifications:
Quad-Core CPU
16GB of RAM
CPU with a minimum 2 GHz processor or faster
250GB of storage
Windows 10 OS, or virtual machine installed with Windows 10 OS (available free from https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/virtual-machines/ or https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-10-enterprise)
Monitor 24" (PC only; dual monitor optional but preferred)

Pre requisite unit requirements
To study VU23218 Implement network security infrastructure for an organisation, learners must complete the pre requisite unit:
VU23213 - Utilise basic network concepts and protocols required in cyber security

To study VU23220 Develop and carry out a cyber security industry project, learners must complete the pre requisite units:
VU23213 - Utilise basic network concepts and protocols required in cyber security
VU23215 - Test concepts and procedures for cyber security

This course considers the ATAR as part of its selection process.

Applicants with higher education study
An applicant's entire academic record will be considered. Applicants are required to attend an interview and provide certified copies of relevant qualifications.

Applicants with Vocational Education and Training (VET) study
An applicant's entire academic record will be considered. Applicants are required to attend an interview and provide certified copies of relevant qualifications. Applicants who have successfully completed a Diploma of Accounting may be eligible for admission into the program with advanced standing, up to a maximum of 48 credit points. Advanced standing will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Applicants with work and life experience
Selection will be based on previous study and work experience.

Candidates must complete:
- Pre training review with a trainer or education manager
- Online literacy, language and numeracy test

Before you can start your practical placement, you will be required to provide:

There are no placement requirements for this qualification. Instead, the practical application and skills-based learning will be facilitated through simulation assessment activities, where hired actors will play the role of clients, service users and NDIS participants.

Please note that employment in the Community Services sector may require the following:
- a valid Working with Children Check
- a clear National Criminal History (Police) Check
- a clear NDIS Worker Screening Check (may include or replace a Police Check)

* CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

* CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
Students must be employed in a Registered Education and Care Service for a minimum of 13 hours per week and a training contract must be completed by the employer and trainee before training can commence.
A current Working With Children's Check card is required.
