To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.
Students must be able to show evidence of a diagnosed intellectual disability or specific learning difficulties requiring additional support.
It is expected that learners in this program will have LLN skills at ACSF Levels P1 - 1. Some learners will have a spiky profile, with a deficit in a particular core skills area (or areas) e.g. reading. Learners will undertake an LLN assessment as part of a pre-training review. All students study Literacy and Numeracy as a core subject. Support is provided in class by LLN teachers. Students are encouraged to use programs such as Read & Write Gold to support their literacy skills.
You will need to have:
- the potential to travel independently and take part in all course activities.
- a desire to complete the course.
- interest in gaining employment, progressing to further study or taking part in community life.
